Thinking outside the Box & Nursing Network Cafe
An evening of dialogue with Swedish colleagues on the Swedish model of person-centred care. This event was co-hosted by iPANEL (Initiative for a Palliative Approach in Nursing: Evidence & Leadership) and Trinity Western University's Nursing Network Cafe.
|Joakim Öhlén, PhD. Dr. Öhlén is Director of the Palliative Research Centre and Professor of Nursing at Ersta Sköndal University College and Ersta Hospital in Stockholm. His research focuses on on issues related to communication between patients, families and carers in palliative care.|
|Cecilia Håkanson, PhD. Dr. Håkanson is Assistant Director and Researcher at Ersta’s Palliative Research Centre. Her research focuses on bodily experiences, bodily care and symbolic at-homeness during the last phase of life.|
|Marjuk Kaelise, RN is a graduate student at Ersta Sköndal University College and an advanced practice nurse in palliative care.|

Nursing Networking Cafés, hosted by Trinity Western University School of Nursing, are a gathering place for nurses to discuss topics of interest in a collegial environment. The Cafes are especially appealing to TWU nursing alumni, graduate students, and other nurses in the region who want to be encouraged about the profession of nursing.
